Bernie Cochran's, practice has predominately involved defense litigation encompassing various areas of the law including: insurance defense and coverage issues, property damage, premises liability, products liability, and personal injury; administrative claims, including Worker's Compensation and Federal Black Lung claims; and, commercial practice including negotiation of contracts, operating agreements, real estate transactions, and collections of commercial accounts. A primary focus of Mr. Cochran's law practice is the representation of motor carriers and other professionals whose business interest are closely allied with trucking. Mr. Cochran's career prior to obtaining a law degree was in transportation. He has experience as an over-the-road driver, heavy truck mechanic, dispatcher, and operations agent for an airfreight company. Mr. Cochran maintains a commercial driver's license and continues to stay informed of issues affecting the trucking industry. He is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and the West Virginia Motor Truck Association. In his fee time, Mr. Cochran enjoys working his cars and displaying them at car shows and drag racing at regional racetracks.
